Breanna Fiene, FNP-C, joining WHMS Staff

West Holt Medical Services is pleased to announce that Breanna Fiene, FNP-C, has joined the organization as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner. Fiene will primarily serve patients in the clinic and will also provide care in the Emergency Department beginning February, 2026.
Fiene earned her graduate degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB). She previously practiced at Avera Creighton Hospital. Her clinical interests include caring for families across the lifespan.
“I chose WHMS because I wanted to be a part of the Holt County community that I grew up in and loved,” Fiene said. “I’m most excited for the friendly atmosphere and familiar faces I’ll get to see while creating relationships and making a difference in my patients’ lives.”
Fiene describes her patient-care philosophy as collaborative and relationship-focused.
“My approach to patient care is focused on respect and trust, taking the time to listen to questions and concerns, and working with the patient to develop a plan that is comfortable to them and meets their goals,” she said. “Patients can expect to always see a friendly smile and a warm welcome when they arrive — and a feeling of being heard with shared decision-making when they leave.”
A Holt county native, Fiene (formerly Hedstrom) grew up in O’Neill, attended St. Mary’s, and still has family deeply rooted in the area. She also previously worked at WHMS as an LPN before earning her RN degree.
“I’m excited to join a community where everyone feels like family,” she said. “WHMS truly values family support and local involvement, and I’m eager to grow as a provider here.”
Outside of work, Fiene enjoys spending time with family and friends, hunting, boating, kayaking, staying active outdoors, and cheering on her younger brother during his senior-year sports season. She and her husband, Wyatt — a lineman for Niobrara Valley Electric — live in O’Neill with their son, Walker, and three dogs.
West Holt Medical Services is thrilled to welcome Fiene to the organization and looks forward to the compassionate care she will provide for patients and families throughout the region.
