Planning ahead for winter ER visits
A trip to the Emergency Room is never planned. West Holt Medical Services wants to make sure patients and the community understand the best way to access the Emergency Room, especially outside of normal business hours. If possible, it is always best to call ahead to the ER to notify staff that you are coming.
Our ER entrance and parking are located on the south side of the facility, on Neely Street. The parking area is slightly sloped and with snow and ice being likely in the coming months, please take care when getting out of your vehicle and entering the ER. Once you enter the building, the inside doors are locked for staff and patient safety. Please use the call button on the leftside wall to contact the nurse’s station.
During inclement weather or extreme temperatures, vehicles can also pull into the ambulance garage on the southeast side of the facility. When a vehicle approaches, the garage door will automatically open, and you can drive in. If you enter via the ambulance garage, please either call the nurse’s station directly at 402-925-2847 or use the call button on the right-side wall of the garage as indicated by orange arrows.
When visiting the ER, we ask that you bring a few items with you to help us better care for you or your family members. Please bring a current Photo ID and insurance card(s). This allows us to process your bill and submit to insurance in a timely manner. Please bring in a Current Medication List and/or Medication bottles and a list of any Allergies. It is important for nurses and providers to know what medications you take to better care for you!
You can’t always predict emergencies, but some extra preparation and thinking ahead can help you get the care you need as quickly as possible. At West Holt Medical Services, your health is our mission.
