Emergency & Trauma Services

The Emergency Department at West Holt Memorial Hospital is open 24 hours, 7 days a week and 365 days of the year. Patients and their families can rest assured that our staff are well-trained, equipped and have the proper protocols in place to provide skillful care in a medical emergency. Patients entering the emergency department are treated and either dismissed, admitted or transferred to a higher level of care based on their illnesses or injuries.

Our medical providers and nurses are certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and either Advanced Trauma Life Support or Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum.

West Holt Memorial Hospital is designated as a Level 4 Trauma Center that is part of the state-wide trauma system in Nebraska. Being a part of the Trauma System ensures optimal care through best practices, on-site review, and continuing education and improvement requirements.

At the touch of a button, Avera eEmergency can be activated by our staff to provide extra support during the first critical minutes of emergency care. eEmergency is an interactive, high-definition video and audio system that provides 24/7 immediate access to board-certified emergency physicians and nurses.
